Happy Sabbath Saints,
I ask that you bear with me in this section. It's just that more than food is a part of our health. I pray this information will be helpful.
Peace and quiet: all around the world, people are searching for peace with relationships, career, achievement, or social status. But what if we can get it much simpler by learning to quiet the noise around us. Increasing quiet time reduces burnout, increases productivity, and promotes work-life balance.
Reducing screen time increases brain function and focus, allowing the central nervous system to regulate emotions and organize thoughts and tasks better. Less screen time improves financial stability by decreasing impulse buys, in-app purchases, subscriptions, and data plan expenses. Playing video games, scrolling on social media or watching TV for long periods increases stress hormones in the body. The blue light from screens disrupts the body's circadian rhythm, making it harder to fall asleep.
Between the ages of 18-25, excessive screen time cause thinning of the cerebral cortex, leading to issues with memory, problem-solving, and decision-making. Giving children time away from constant stimulation allows them to become more patient and tolerant of others.
Taking time to be still and pray increases gratitude and appreciation, which eliminates thoughts of comparison and self-doubt. Moments of silence strengthen our discernment and help us sense a deeper connection with God. Doing outdoor activities boosts mood and improves well-being.
John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid."
This verse encourages focusing on God's peace, which transcends worldly anxieties.
Blessings,
Sandra Jackson
