Happy Sabbath All,
We are back to eating well on a budget. Eating healthy is key to staying on a budget. Reducing food waste is important. Throwing spoiled leftovers in the garbage is one of the most frustrating ways to see your hard-earned money being wasted. Consider trying at least one of these strategies to minimize wasted food.
Track your leftovers, repurpose leftovers, freeze leftovers, and practice safe food handling practices. Leftovers can spoil even more quickly if they haven't been handled properly. To prevent excessive bacterial growth, allow cooked foods to cool to room temperature within 2 hours of cooking and promptly refrigerate or freeze them.
"Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted" (John 6:12b NIV)
Blessings,
Sandra Jackson
