Blessed Sabbath Church Family,
Did you know that the way we treat other can affect our health?
"Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." - Ephesians 4:31, 32
"It is impossible to live in this world without getting hurt, offended and rejected or to do our share of the hurting..."
Evidence-based research suggest that feelings of anger, hurt and emotional pain release toxic chemicals inside our bodies that damage organs and our ability to think creatively. This contributes to a variety of diseases, including heart attacks, cancer, ulcers, migraines, and high blood pressure. In light of these terrible outcomes, forgiveness is one of the most important steps a person must take on the path to healing.
"Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors." It is most difficult, even for those who claim to be followers of Jesus, to forgive as Christ forgives us. The true spirit of forgiveness is so little practiced, and so may interpretations are placed upon Christ's requirement, that its force and beauty are lost sight of. We have very uncertain views of the great mercy and loving-kindness of God. He is full of compassion and forgiveness, and freely pardons when we truly repent and confess our sins." (Advent RH 1886, p. 45)
Family, we should forgive others and even ourselves and believe in the power God has put into forgiveness to heal us completely.
May God bless your journey to good health,
Sandra Torres
